How long until I have a lawn? The seed begins to sprout 7-14 days (may be longer in spring/fall) after application and the whole lawn fills in 4-6 weeks after application. When can I walk on my lawn? 4 weeks after application it is safe to walk on the lawn. How do I prepare my yard for Hydroseeding? As a bare minimum you should remove all large weeds and rocks larger than a quarter. The area should be graded and levelled as desired and the soil should be raked. For the best results all undesired vegetation should be completely removed. The top 3 inches should be mechanically tilled or it should be new top soil and you should have a sprinkler system installed with an electronic timer system. Can I use weed killer to prepare the area? If you use a weed killer, like Round Up, we can Hydroseed 7 days after it was applied providing the weed killer does not have any long term weed prevention additives. Do you have any kind of guarantee? Yes, we have a 90 day 100% germination guarantee. We will give you a copy of our guarantee when we spray as well as care instructions for your new lawn. Basically we guarantee the lawn will grow in fully and if it doesn’t we will come back out and spray it again for free provided our care instructions are followed. Here are the details. When can I Hydroseed? The soil temperature needs to be above 60 F which usually happens after April 15th. After Sept.. 15th each year we can Hydroseed but we do not maintain our 90 day guarantee on lawns sprayed after that date. Some of the Hydroseeding mixture got on my driveway/siding/fence/curbing, will it stain? No, The blue color you see is a short term, water soluble dye that is added to the mix so we know where we have sprayed so we dont lose track as we spray. The dye washes off easily when the sprinklers run. When should I mow my lawn for the first time? You want to wait until the grass is about 3 inches long or about 5-6 weeks after it was sprayed.
